Stem Cell TherapySTEMCELL

Expectations for Therapy

Making use of Pluripotent Stem Cells, which can produce a wide variety of cells, we target anti-aging benefits for the whole body.

Hematopoietic stem cells, which make blood cells, and neural stem cells, which make up the nervous system, have defined roles in the body.
Recent studies have revealed, however, that stem cells derived from bone marrow and fat have “pluripotency”, which means they can transform into many different kinds of cells.

Among the “mesenchymal stem cells”, especially the stem cells present in adipose tissue are expected to be useful in regenerative medicine due to their relative ease of collection and large amount.
Many clinical applications are progressing using their “homing ability”, which is their ability of finding and replacing cells in locations where they have been lost to injury or disease.

At Ginza Zen Clinic, we have prepared package plans to match each patient’s needs.
Each plan includes all consultations, pre-examinations (interviews, blood sampling, etc.), adipose tissue collection, stem cell culture costs, and infusion of stem cells (approx. 100 million cells for each infusion).

*If you need to cancel adipose tissue collection or stem cell infusion, be sure to notify us at least 1 day before.

*Please note that 50% of one treatment fee will be charged as a cancellation fee for same-day cancellations.

*Listed prices do not include tax.

*All treatments are at the patient’s private expense.

Treatment ScheduleFLOW

Collected stem cells are cultured in approx. 4 weeks.
Experts believe that it takes about 3 months for the administered stem cells to enter the bloodstream and repair damaged parts of the body.
Please consult with the doctor about your best timing for stem cell administration.

  1. Consultation, Pre-examination, and Interview

We will give you a detailed explanation before any treatment.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask the coordinator or doctor.

We will conduct an interview and consultation to examine each patient’s condition.

We will also take blood, as it’s needed for testing and cell culture.

  2. Adipose Tissue Collection from the Abdomen

We will make an incision about 5mm below the navel, and use a medical device called a cannula to collect 10-20g of adipose tissue.
The collection causes some pain, but in order to minimize the discomfort, we will treat the pain with anesthesia, nitrous oxide (laughing gas), etc.
If you’re concerned about the pain, we can provide sedation and pain relief by intravenous injection, so please let us know if you are interested.

The adipose tissue collection will only be 1 time, even for patients who apply for a multiple infusion package plan.

  3. Stem Cell Extraction

Adipose tissue collected at the clinic arrives at Kohjin Bio within 48 hours, where the stem cells will quickly be extracted.
The extracted stem cells will be divided according to the number of treatments, and they will either be stored or cultured according to the patient’s administration schedule.

  4. Stem Cell Culturing

Culturing the collected stem cells takes approximately 4 weeks.

  5. Stem Cell Administration by either IV or Local Injection.

Experts believe that it takes about 3 months for the administered stem cells to enter the bloodstream and repair damaged parts of the body.
Please consult the doctor about your best timing for stem cell administration.

Possible Side Effects

Although we maximize the safety of the treatment, there is a possibility of the following complications and side effects.

  • Related to Adipose Tissue Collection

Some possible complications are: subcutaneous bleeding, postoperative scarring, keloids, side effects of drugs (including anaphylaxis and cardiac arrest), local anesthetic poisoning, postoperative pain due to the use of local anesthesia and skin removal to collect adipose tissue, as well as possible unforeseen complications.

  • Related to Stem Cell Transfer and Culturing

This treatment may be cancelled in the case that the expected number of cells cannot be obtained through culturing, or if it is determined that the number of cells obtained through culturing cannot provide adequate results.

Also, after the cell culture is completed, the cells will be transported with appropriate quality control to our clinic from the cell processing facility; however, in the case of an accident or damage during transport, the treatment may be discontinued.
In such cases, the cost of treatment will be refunded.

  • Related to Stem Cell Administration

In administering adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells into peripheral veins, the possible risks include: pain at the injection site, allergic reactions (anaphylaxis, etc.), and unexpected serious complications such as pulmonary embolism.
